The Teardrop tomato is a unique variety developed by Metchosin Farm, resulting from several years of selection and field cultivation. The plants produce a beautiful mix of teardrop-shaped fruits with a bright, slightly tangy flavor and reliable production. Fruit size may vary slightly, as this lineage is still stabilizing—offering gardeners a lovely diversity reminiscent of the richness of open-pollinated crops. Productive and resilient, it is ideal for fresh eating, cooking, and preserving.

Where can Teardrop tomatoes be grown?

They grow well in zones 3 to 9. Grow in full sun in fertile, well-drained soil. Suitable for garden beds, greenhouse cultivation, or large containers on a patio.

History and Traditional Uses

Developed directly on the farm, this variety reflects a commitment to seed diversity and taste quality. By selecting the most interesting plants—in terms of productivity, shape, color, and taste—we help preserve a biodiversity once common in gardens and farms.
